Editor role

Content is added to Berkeley Web Builder sites via content types (pages) and page widgets. Any user account with a role can work with content within the scope of that role's permissions (see Permissions by role). All content should follow best practices for content accessibility and the guidelines provided by the Digital Accessibility Program.

Site Managers, Site Builders, Editors, and Contributors will see an option called "Add Content" in the sidebar menu; see Figure 1, below.

The Basic page content type is meant for simple pages with a fixed, one-column format with a local (sidebar) menu. See Figure 1, below, for an example of a Basic page; the majority of the pages in this Guides section are Basic pages and can be viewed as examples.

The Berkeley Web Builder platform uses CalNet authentication (CAS) for access to individual sites and platform tools. User accounts will need to have one of the available roles (Site Manager, Site Builder, Editor, Contributor, or Member) in order to log in and access sites and platform tools.
